Introduction

In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn’t merely try to train him to be semi human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly dog. Edward Hoagland

Claire Grobbelaar welcomes you to DogSense, where dogs and their owners are met with patience and understanding.

We offer puppy socialisation classes, clicker training courses, individual training, Tellington Ttouch™ , behaviour modification consultations, training for deaf dogs, short courses, play groups, talks, venue hire for dog related events and gift certificates.

Our techniques are non-confrontational and based on the principles of positive reinforcement.

When canine learning theory is understood then there is no need to resort to using force, intimidation, physical manipulations or punishment, outdated applications such as rank reduction programs, alpha rolling, forced submissiveness or treating dogs as wolves as proclaimed by the wolf-model of the 1940’s.

Methods and approaches used in our facility are based on the most up to date research. No advice is based on self proclaimed theories or because someone famous on TV said so. We also don’t do “dog whispering”, all advice given can be backed up with sound scientific literature.
