Pet Dog 1 & 2 required. This course is necessary for owners who want to do the Pet Dog 4 course or just if you want to start doing more fun stuff with your dog. In this course the different positive ways to obtain behaviours will be explored and you will be introduced to target training.

Your dog will learn some tricks, retrieving, how to go to a place/bed on cue and how to appropriately greet people and strangers and how to get out from under your feet, especially when you come home with lots of shopping bags! The course will introduce your dog to ‘tunnel & table work’ and “distance control” to improve confidence and to prepare your dog for the next course. This course will again focus on the most-difficult-but-most-important-life-saving-skill your dog needs to have – “Come”.

PetDog 4 – FUN COURSE

To do this course your dog needs to have done Pet Dog 1, 2, & 3, which means that at this stage the dog’s response to cues excellent, the dog can work confidently at a distance from you (& also off lead) and you will be confident and comfortable in using all the different positive methods to obtain new behaviours and to teach your dog the obstacles which includes, arched tunnels, collapsible tunnels, tyres/hoops and multiple jumps.

Your dog will learn some new tricks. Trick-training is an excellent way to interact with your dog while at the same time both of you are having fun! When teaching tricks the pressure is off  you and your dog, but at the same time you are teaching your dog to focus, it teaches the dog to think, and you build up his/her confidence up greatly and improve your relationship of trust and understanding with your canine companion.

As a fun activity we will also teach your dog to discriminate different scents and objects. Wouldn’t it be nice to give your dog a job to do every now and then by asking your dog to get your keys or the TV remote??
